Homemade meals

so lately i've been really into cooking and once a week i'll make myself and john a meal. i've been doing this for a month ish maybe longer. a few weeks ago i made chicken enchiladas, i got the recipe from the food network, but i spiced it up and made it my own! last week i made stew from an online recipe and unfortunately i didn't buy enough veggies and was kinda going off of what i already had so i didn't have to spend too much but i'm stoked to make it again to add more veggies. i like making stew and soup because i put half of it in a tupperware and in the freezer. yesterday i made fried rice. i started cooking the rice and i had frozen broccoli so i just put it in the microwave then cooked up a scrambled egg and once that was cooked i added left over bell peppers and added the broccoli and rice when they were both done and added soy sauce. i was pretty impressed! i also added crushed red peppers to give it a little kick and it was great! i usually add crushed red pepper to a lot of things because i love that kick that it gives. i'm starting to really like cooking. luckily i have a radio in my kitchen so i can listen to music while i'm cooking, its nice! i'll post pics of other meals that i make!

kind of disturbing...

today at work (we close at 6pm on sundays) a lady who is considered a "big jcrew spender" but really isn't, decided she was going to stay an extra 40 minutes past 6 in the store. great... so we comes in around 530 and picks out everything and gets to the dressing room at around 545 and spends a half hour in the dressing room. she then comes out to get employee opinions and asked how much time she had until close, the three of us were a little taken back by this question because we assumed that she knew what time it was (it was 615...) so we told her the time and she said she'd hurry but obviously didn't. but once she was out and at the registers she couldn't decide what to get and kept asking opinions of if something was cute or what color would look best on her. Now here's the disturbing part, she asked me to grab an XL cardigan, so i did, and she continued to tell us how it was for her daughter and how her daughter was petit but she "wouldn't dare to get her a small" <-- exact words! uhhhh.....seriously????! you are getting an XL for your "petit" daughter... no correction, you are getting an XL for your large daughter. this was very disturbing for me because i have seen her daughters and they are no where near petit. as for me, being a genuine petit person i was disturbed and offended. fat people get offended so why can't small people?
so here's to all you moms, please, for everyones sake, accept your daughters the way they are. everything will be better and everyone will be a lot happier and less confused
